I especially enjoyed Elder Uchtdorf's talk, <i><a href="https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/04/grateful-in-any-circumstances?lang=eng" target="_blank">Grateful in Any Circumstances</a>. </i><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">I loved that he said, "<span style="background-color: #f9f6ed; color: #2f393a; line-height: 18px;">In light of what we know about our eternal destiny, is it any wonder that whenever we face the bitter endings of life, they seem unacceptable to us? There seems to be something inside of us that resists endings."</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: #f9f6ed; color: #2f393a; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
Here is the hand out I made, for this month.<br />

I've noticed a lot more traffic on this blog, and I am going to make more handouts for visiting teaching this year!<br />
<br />
Thanks for all of your re-pins on Pinterest, I am so glad they are being used.<br />

I am loving the new fallen snow and how it gives the scenery a fresh clean look. </span></span><br />

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">I know if it were not for the many small simple phrases I heard over and I over from various friends, I wouldn't be enjoying the gospel in my life the way I do now. I hope with the new year we can all recommit to sharing what we know with others. </span><br />

<br />
<br />
I love this month's <a href="http://www.lds.org/liahona/2012/12/visiting-teaching-a-work-of-salvation?lang=eng">message</a>. I thought I would add a bit of the message to a Christmas card type handout to share with the ladies I teach. I sifted through some beautiful vintage cards and did a collage of a few elements I liked from them. And here it is....<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

This <a href="https://www.lds.org/liahona/2012/10/honoring-our-covenants?lang=eng">month's message</a> is a great reminder of how as we help others prepare for eternal life we are preparing as well.<br />
<br />
You can right click the image below to download the handout I designed for October Visiting Teaching, featuring Elder Nelson's quote.<br />

Ward boundaries have been redrawn for us so we are in a new ward with new callings. I am now excited about my involvement with the Young Women's organization so you'll see more of those type of designs here.<br />
<br />
Since my new calling is the YW secretary I decided to make a notebook cover. It is very similar to the <a href="http://www.scattersunshineprintables.blogspot.com/2012/05/book-of-mormon-summer-reading-chart.html">Book of Mormon reading challenge chart</a> I did because I wanted it to reflect the 2012 <a href="https://www.lds.org/youth/theme/2012?lang=eng">LDS Youth Theme</a>, "Arise and shine forth, that you may be a standard for all nations". (<a href="https://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/115.5?lang=eng#4">D&C 115:5</a>)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here it is with my ward info on it:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWmWM4nwZJSSnorwmS-5W-0RKMvE20i3AAPxmnU7uUmbj_c2fczO0SI0EZLLeevj9THDjr2i1xLvGuaDCcNoL92Oor6s8IqXZ_o5qJ2g7dK7fZvkcwJiL29LR3hfC59As__4kNdTtCiM/s1600/PP2+YW+notebookcover.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWmWM4nwZJSSnorwmS-5W-0RKMvE20i3AAPxmnU7uUmbj_c2fczO0SI0EZLLeevj9THDjr2i1xLvGuaDCcNoL92Oor6s8IqXZ_o5qJ2g7dK7fZvkcwJiL29LR3hfC59As__4kNdTtCiM/s320/PP2+YW+notebookcover.png" width="250" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here it is with the black left blank for you to add your own ward information.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSN7PAPyV9fEAzNZtOZe4S6HG0fBATv8bNsrC0ZELlAML2tNAuCOJWF5kXblA_KJCdjXGZxlp9n6fE5YtiPpi-UwG7fJemAY6EuLx4CnDctgQAdDglK08mqJ8JaTDBg0r_6Xgiipym6-c/s1600/YW+notebookcover.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSN7PAPyV9fEAzNZtOZe4S6HG0fBATv8bNsrC0ZELlAML2tNAuCOJWF5kXblA_KJCdjXGZxlp9n6fE5YtiPpi-UwG7fJemAY6EuLx4CnDctgQAdDglK08mqJ8JaTDBg0r_6Xgiipym6-c/s320/YW+notebookcover.png" width="250" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Download <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e238mv1pfxte50t/u2U4gYDW4X">here</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The size is 9 x11.5 because the clear notebook insert area is larger than an 8.5 x11 sheet of paper and it looks nice if it fills the space.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you don't plan to print it on a printer that can use larger paper </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
just print this image to fit you letter size paper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I think this could easily be used for any type of youth graphics that may be needed since it isn't particularly girly. Let me know if you get creative with it.<br />
<br />
If you download it please leave some feedback so I know I am on the right track<br />
with designs that help others.<br />
<br />

Hello June.<br />
<br />
This month's message is about the sacred assignment of Visiting Teaching. I really liked the following quote:<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><span style="color: #2f393a; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">“Visiting teaching becomes the Lord’s work when our focus is on people rather than percentages. In reality, visiting teaching is never finished. It is more a way of life than a task.” (</span><span style="color: #2f393a; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">Julie B. Beck, </span><span class="emphasis" style="border: 0px; color: #2f393a; font-size: 13px; font-style: italic; line-height: 18px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Liahona</span><span style="color: #2f393a; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"> and </span><span class="emphasis" style="border: 0px; color: #2f393a; font-size: 13px; font-style: italic; line-height: 18px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Ensign,</span><span style="color: #2f393a; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"> Nov. 2009, 114.)</span> </span><br />
<br />

That time of year for projects and reading.<br />
My ward is encouraging the youth to read The Book of Mormon this summer beginning after their youth conference next week.<br />
<br />
I designed a summer reading chart for them.<br />
<br />
Heres a close up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxJrE5TCvc9Kl6ltQ8TeqlUGtAIFex1xJGGq1CmNNZOBJ5k_Zn4x2n_wxBIxeK-Y3lXNp-k4sAPTzRFjJ9r9kIcNR1Z399aktUAIgbrwqLYgenQ-tzR9_IbuMpPDUGaiJ_2UUXVMJyQOE/s1600/BOM+YOUTH+reading+Chart+w-o+notesZOOM.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxJrE5TCvc9Kl6ltQ8TeqlUGtAIFex1xJGGq1CmNNZOBJ5k_Zn4x2n_wxBIxeK-Y3lXNp-k4sAPTzRFjJ9r9kIcNR1Z399aktUAIgbrwqLYgenQ-tzR9_IbuMpPDUGaiJ_2UUXVMJyQOE/s320/BOM+YOUTH+reading+Chart+w-o+notesZOOM.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I included this year's 2012 <a href="https://www.lds.org/youth/theme/2012?lang=eng">LDS Youth Theme</a>, "Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for all nations" (<a href="https://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/115.5?lang=eng#4">D&C 115:5</a>), as extra inspiration.<br />
<br />
Maybe by sharing this as a free downloadable printable with my the Scatter Sunshine followers it may inspire others to challenge themselves to read The Book of Mormon this summer as well.<br />

I can't believe it. It was a busy month for me. I am excited for May.<br />
<br />
Since the May Ensign is a report of the April general conference there is not a specific designated visiting teaching message for April. I thought I would get started early and make a few handouts from a few different talks that I thought might be helpful.<br />
<br />
Here is my first idea. More to follow in the next few days.<br />
<br />
I loved the talk <a href="http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/that-the-lost-may-be-found?lang=eng&query=%22that+the+lost+may+be+found%22">That the Lost May Be Found by Elder M. Russel Ballard</a><br />
I took a quote from it and made this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<br /></div>
Last Sunday I talked to a sister in my ward who said until she got the calling to be a Visiting Teaching Supervisor she didn't know she was supposed to call and report. Those little slips of paper we get have such tiny print and get lost pretty easily. So I thought what if I made a card the supervisors could leave behind? I think a handy reminder would be helpful to them. Maybe by going the extra mile you could put a magnet on the back so it could be handy on the fridge for your sisters.<br />

Daughters of our kingdom is the theme of the message this month. I especially like the quote from the section from our history by the prophet Joseph Smith, which I have included in the handout. I like it because it reminds me of the real power of Relief Society.<br />
<br />
The handout I made is a little larger than normal. It is 8x10 because I'd like to frame it. So you can print it this size for your sisters or resize it to make it smaller. Right click the image above to download. The back ground is from an old page of irish sheet music, that I edited. Fitting for March. Have a Happy Saint Patrick's Day!<br />

Hello there Friends,<br />
<br />
This month's message is about being guardians of the hearth. I included a beautiful quote given by President Hinckley on the handout for you to share. See the whole message <a href="http://www.lds.org/liahona/2012/02/guardians-of-the-hearth?lang=eng">here</a>.<br />
<br />
In this month's design I wanted something that would reflect Valentines day as well and I thought the bird with the heart envelope was just the thing. I found it on the <a href="http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/">graphics fairy</a> site.<br />
<br />
One of my very favorite quotes, "I am a little pencil in the hand, of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world", by Mother Teresa is what I think of when I see this bird. When I think of you lovely women acting as visiting teachers, I can't help but think that you are sending Heavenly Father's love letters to the world. Spread the love. Happy Valentines Day!<br />
<br />

<div class="p1">
Whenever I think of watch care I always think of light houses. When my parents were newly married they lived on an island while my father was a light house keeper for the Coast Guard. I have always had a fondness for light house and what they symbolize. I chose a vintage postcard image which shows the Great Beds Lighthouse in 1918 and altered it a bit for this months visiting teaching message. It features this quote "If we are observant and aware, and if we act on the promptings which come to us,<br />
we can accomplish much good. … Countless are the acts of service provided by the vast army of Relief Society visiting teachers. -President Thomas S. Monson<br />

This month's visiting teaching message entitled <i><a href="http://lds.org/liahona/2011/12/an-extensive-sphere-of-action?lang=eng">An Extensive Sphere of Action</a></i> features a great quote by Elder Ballard that put on the card.<br />

You can learn more about this book <a href="http://lds.org/relief-society/daughters-in-my-kingdom?lang=eng">here</a>. I just got this wonderful book in our ward last Sunday and I already love it. I found the quote on page 118 and it is by Mary Ellen Smoot, the 13th Relief Society General President.</span></span><br />

This month's <a href="http://lds.org/liahona/2011/10/if-we-do-not-doubt?lang=eng">visiting teaching message </a>, "If We Do Not Doubt" by Sister Julie B. Beck, had many quotes I really liked but I went with the simple one for the handout. I like that this could have been said a hundred years ago or today and it still fits us. </div>

Dieter F. Uchtdorf give his talk, You are Not Forgotten at the <a href="http://lds.org/pages/general-rs-meeting-2011?lang=eng">Saturday Relief Society Broadcast</a> I was inspired. If you haven't had a chance to listen to it, it is really great. I thought I needed to make myself a reminder of the things he said. I thought you might like to have a copy too so I am sharing it here.<br />

Just want to scatter a little sunshine in the way of helpful handouts. I have been a graphic designer for 12 years and I thought it was about time I gave away some designs to help with LDS <a href="http://lds.org/liahona/2011/09/strengthening-families-by-increasing-spirituality?lang=eng">visiting teaching</a>. (LDS visiting teaching is something <a href="http://mormon.org/">Mormons</a> do every month to help uplift and inspire women in the church. )<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Below is the handout I made for September, earlier this month featuring a quote by Julie B. Beck. I'll start making these handouts available earlier. I have been brainstorming a list of LDS printables I will offer soon. Please let me know your ideas!</div>
