Endings are not our destiny.

I was really inspired by the April 2014 conference. I especially enjoyed Elder Uchtdorf's talk, Grateful in Any Circumstances

I loved that he said, "In light of what we know about our eternal destiny, is it any wonder that whenever we face the bitter endings of life, they seem unacceptable to us? There seems to be something inside of us that resists endings."

Here is the hand out I made, for this month.

I've noticed a lot more traffic on this blog, and I am going to make more handouts for visiting teaching this year!

Thanks for all of your re-pins on Pinterest, I am so glad they are being used.

Happy Easter!

January Visiting Teaching Handout 2013

It is still a winter wonder land here in Provo, Utah. I am loving the new fallen snow and how it gives the scenery a fresh clean look.

This month's message is about Missionary work. I loved the quote:

“The Lord … entrusts a testimony of the truth to those who will share it with others,” said President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency. “Even more, the Lord expects the members of His Church to ‘open [their mouths] at all times, declaring [His] gospel with the sound of rejoicing’ (D&C 28:16). … Sometimes a single phrase of testimony can set events in motion that affect someone’s life for eternity.”

I know if it were not for the many small simple phrases I heard over and I over  from various friends, I wouldn't be enjoying the gospel in my life the way I do now. I hope with the new year we can all recommit to sharing what we know with others.

Christmas Visiting Teaching Handout 2012

Hello Ladies, Below is the Christmas visiting teaching hand out a little late.

I love this month's message. I thought I would add a bit of the message to a Christmas card type handout to share with the ladies I teach. I sifted through some beautiful vintage cards and did a collage of a few elements I liked from them. And here it is....

I left a space at the bottom for you to write in a personal message if you would like to.

Merry Christmas to all!

October Visiting Teaching Handout

Honoring our covenants really means that we serve and strengthen one another through our visiting teaching. This month's message is a great reminder of how as we help others prepare for eternal life we are preparing as well.

You can right click the image below to download the handout I designed for October Visiting Teaching, featuring Elder Nelson's quote.

I am excited about conference this weekend. If any thing really gets you inspired and you think it should be made into a handout let me know. I am happy to take suggestions.

Young Women's Notebook Cover Design

Ward boundaries have been redrawn for us so we are in a new ward with new callings. I am now excited about my involvement with the Young Women's organization so you'll see more of those type of designs here.

Since my new calling is the YW secretary I decided to make a notebook cover. It is very similar to the Book of Mormon reading challenge chart I did because I wanted it to reflect the 2012 LDS Youth Theme, "Arise and shine forth, that you may be a standard for all nations". (D&C 115:5)

Here it is with my ward info on it:

Here it is with the black left blank for you to add your own ward information.

Download here.

The size is 9 x11.5 because the clear notebook insert area is larger than an 8.5 x11 sheet of paper and it looks nice if it fills the space.

If you don't plan to print it on a printer that can use larger paper
just print this image to fit you letter size paper.

I think this could easily be used for any type of youth graphics that may be needed since it isn't particularly girly. Let me know if you get creative with it.

If you download it please leave some feedback so I know I am on the right track
with designs that help others.

July Visiting Teaching Message 2012

Did you know that the hot air balloon is the oldest human-carrying flight technology? Just a random fact I thought I'd share with you. I really love this hot air balloon illustration and I thought it was a good symbol for this month's visiting teaching message about ministering to others.

It features an American flag so I thought it was perfect for July Visiting teaching in the United States.

June Visiting Teaching Message 2012

Hello Summer. Hello June.

This month's message is about the sacred assignment of Visiting Teaching. I really liked the following quote:

“Visiting teaching becomes the Lord’s work when our focus is on people rather than percentages. In reality, visiting teaching is never finished. It is more a way of life than a task.” (Julie B. Beck, Liahona and Ensign, Nov. 2009, 114.)

I thought a simple reminder of just that with a pretty swallow I found on Graphics Fairy would do the trick this month.

Here is a link to the whole message.
